he's just not that into you (aka the film we watched on V-day)
When the book came out a few years ago, my best gal pals and I jokingly called it our "bible."
Yeah. It was the moment when we knew the guys were not worth it. Hahaha.... Yeah, I decided he just wasn't that into me. And the guy who was into me, let's not even go there. But I try not to dwell on those things.
What better movie to watch on V-day than the big screen version of the book? A coupld of gal pals and I watched it, and it certainly provided a lot to talk about over coffee.
It's fun to watch girls like Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) because she's like a composite of every girl. But sometimes, you can go OUCH because come on, who doesn't analyze phone conversations and read into every little thing the guy did or said? And who hasn't waited for the phone call that never came?
The only problem with the film is that while it purports to squash girls' dreams that they will be the "exception," (as opposed to being the rule), it still gives a mostly happy ending. Like the girl who's been with her bf for 7 years but he hasn't proposed? I thought the book says that if he hasn't proposed, he never will.
But we're all suckers for happy endings. If it's a guy who looks like Justin Long, we're ready to forget he was such a jerk in the first place. By the way, I've always liked Bradley Cooper but he is way hotter here than when he was in Alias.
