third time, I'm charmed
Jason Mraz ... what can I say?
The first time last March, I was impressed but I wasn't that into his music.
The second time last August, I had fun even though I didn't know much of the songs from his new album.
But last night... The third time, I was charmed.
I've been totally in love with his album for the past months. You know I really love an album when I run out and buy the special edition package. So I was looking forward to seeing him again, if only to hear him sing "A Beautiful Mess" (my current favorite song!)
When we got there, the OlympicHall was packed, and I mean, PACKED. The standing area looked like there was no room left for people to stand. The last time I saw the hall that packed was, well... Arashi in 2006.
Jason came out, just wearing his trademark hat, white shirt and jeans. His first song was Make it Mine (such a fun song!). He also sang Geek in the Pink, The Remedy, Live High, Butterfly, If It Kills Me and You And I Both.
I've seen him three times and one thing I noticed about Jason is that he sounds even better live, than in his albums. Now that's rare. I've been to enough concerts to know that most artists suck live, and depend on to pre-recorded tracks. I'm a fan of some of those artists, but I'm not deaf.
Everyone started singing along to Lucky (I wish ColbieCaillat would have a concert too!), and dancing to Dynamo of Volition (Jason had everyone doing his crazy dance steps).
When he left the stage without singing my favorite song "A Beautiful Mess," I was almost ready to cry. But thank god he returned... and it was the first song he sang for the encore. A Beautiful Mess sung live is just soooo, for the lack of a better word, beautiful. *swoon swoon swoon*
I'm going to gush here... But Jason is just so darned effortlessly charming. He's not handsome, and he's not trying to be. He's just himself and that's what makes him so attractive. It also helps that he plays the guitar so well, dances goofily without looking like an idiot, makes funny comments and he just sings with emotion, but is never sappy.
Judging by the screams from the girls at the concert, I'm not the only one who's been totally charmed by Mr. Mraz. ^_^
