Rin on the Rox, the two Fil-Ams who sing inside a bathroom, appeared on today's Ellen show... They're quite good! Lucky girls, they're going to the Grammys!
This article on JT caught my eye...
I thought the same way when I first got into the Johnny's fandom -- everyone seemed to look alike! Especially when I would watch SC --- I often wondered how to tell those kids apart!
From JT: But in any case this uniform look for male TV personalities — the androgynous features, the deliberately tousled hairstyles, even the relatively short stature — attests to the entertainment industry's pack mentality.
Hahaha... the "short stature"... that is just too funny! really hits the spot! I do think there's a distinctive Johnny's look, which is kind of creepy in a way.
But I totally agree with the article's point about how people are becoming distrustful of anything media manufactured... I may be from the media, but I'm totally cynical.
I don't believe the hype about anything at all.
I thought I wasn't going to watch anything at all, but now I'm kind of hooked on three Jdramas.
1. Mei-chan no Shitsuji
It's cute and funny. I didn't recognize Nana Eikura as Mei-chan. Who wouldn't love having Hiro as a butler? But his goofy little bro reminds me of Kame for some reason.
2. Uta no Oniisan
Ohno is sooooo cute in this one. I like Ohno being cranky and whiny. And he looks cool in those leather jackets. Maru is perfectly dorky, too!
3. Kami no Shizuku
I thought I'd be bored, but I liked it. Kame looks so clean cut, and I think his acting has improved. ^^ I'm gonna keep watching this one, although it does make me want to drink wine a lot!
Can't wait to watch this one!
Okay, so despite my best intentions, I really want a pair of comfy sneaks. Initially, I was looking for the black leather Chucks like the one KS wore for the VF shoot, but I can't find it here! Darn!
I went to Converse and found a pair of polka dot patent Chucks ones -- BUT the dots were all sparkly and shiny... Ermmm... I love polka dots, but I'm not sure about day-glo colored dots!
But then I saw ConverseJapan released their Polka dot series. Now, I want that one!
Guys can never understand what handbags mean for girls!
One of the guys asked me if there was a typo in the story, since it read "the RiverTote bag retails for $9,440." I said, no, it is the price of the bag. He was like, "if my wife came home with a $9,440 bag, I would sign the divorce papers right there." Someone else said that even $100 was too much for a bag. What world are they living in, these guys???
Incidentally, the same bag was used by Blair in GossipGirl. Cool.
I've always been a handbag person. Handbags are the only thing, aside from travel, that I can splurge on without regretting it too much. But even I would have to draw the line!!! Nearly $10,000 for a bag is way too much!
Hmmm... then again, I'd probably consider getting a bag like that (hmmm... maybe Hermes, a girl can dream right?) ... but only if I ever become a gazillionaire!
Ain't it fun to celebrate the New Year twice?
I guess I can start over with my resolutions --- although I've done pretty good with "stop shopping" (only snagged a sweater on sale, and a cd!!!), not so much on the "stop whining" bit.
Sigh... It's gonna be a long weekend for many people (not me). But as several people reminded me (in response to my constant whining) I should be grateful for an extra day-off, and not to mention still having a job (especially in a recession).
Happy New Year, everyone!
The Obama inauguation... It'll be one of those moments that people will always ask "where were you?"
Just like when...
the big earthquake hit RP? I was sleeping in the schoolbus, blissfully unaware that the earth was shaking. We were probably the only people who didn't feel it, thanks to the fact that we were driving through pot-hole-ridden streets at that time.
9/11? just about to go to bed, when i thought to check CNN one last time... just in time to see the breaking news that a plane hit the WTC.
and now... Obama's inauguration at home, barely keeping my eyes open after waiting impatiently for more than 6 hours! It was 2 am okay! Sure he was inspiring and the speech was relatively short, but that doesn't mean I wasn't sleepy.
Hmmm... Not exactly stories I would relish telling my grandchildren about.
The fashion kept me glued though. I just love Michelle's yellow coat and dress with the green gloves. So cheery! Almost makes me want to go out and get a bright yellow coat... Almost, but not quite. Maybe for spring? Jill looked kind of ordinary in red. But Aretha's awesome gray ribboned hat stole the show!
The Obama kids were adorable in their J Crew coats, Maila taking snaps throughout and Sasha looking bored watching the parade.
I'm just so sleepy, even while I'm writing this!
This song is just so beautiful.
And what a beautiful mess this is. It's like taking a guess when the only answer is yes.
I think Jason played this song at the concert last August, but I don't remember it. Hmmm...I wasn't that into him last time, but things have changed and I really love his songs.
I really really really want to see him again in concert next month --- just to listen to him perform this song one more time.
I was lucky enough to have see The Swell Season in Seoul.
If I thought they were already great in Once, but OMG, they're even more awesome live.
Is it possible to fall in love with a song?
And yeah, Glen is now one of my favorite scruffy guys. Haha!
